Business Mentors

Having business mentors is like having a favorite song, pair of shoes or restaurant. They are not something that you need to have everyday. But when you want them, they are there.

Mentors provide guidance, experience and honesty. They do not judge or have a hidden agenda. They challenge your thought process to help you make the best business, financial, or professional decision. These mentors come in all shapes and sizes. They can be family members, bosses (current or future), professors, coaches, or even politicians (I am an optimist).

One important secret to having mentors is to have a good handful of them. You need to know which ones can help you with the different challenges you face. Continue to develop your relationships until you have 5-10 mentors. Speak to them often, even if you do not need anything, so they know where you are in life.
